Ujjain, a historic and spiritual city in Madhya Pradesh, is now making its mark in the history of India's defense services. Navya Trivedi, a bright young woman from Ujjain, has created history by securing a place in the National Defence Academy (NDA).
Ujjain: The religious and historical city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, has once again reason to celebrate. Its daughter, Navya Trivedi, has made history by securing a place in the National Defence Academy (NDA). She is the first woman from not only Ujjain but the entire state of Madhya Pradesh to join the Air Force as a flying officer through the NDA.
With this achievement, Navya has become an inspiration for thousands of girls. Her dream is to serve the nation with the same passion and dedication as Colonel Sophia Qureshi, who inspires her.
Education and Preparation
Navya's early education was at a simple school in Ujjain. She has always been a bright student, but her dreams took flight when, after the 10th standard, she decided she wanted to join the Air Force. After the 12th standard, she began preparing for the NDA exam. She says, "For me, this is not just a job, but my duty towards the nation."
Whenever she saw a female officer in uniform, she envisioned herself in that role. Her father, Rajesh Trivedi, works in a bank, and her mother is a homemaker. The family consistently encouraged Navya and fully supported her decision.
Navya as a Role Model
While the NDA exam has been available to men for a long time, the opportunity for women has only been open for a few years. The competition is fierce because the number of seats for women is limited. Navya not only passed the written exam but also excelled in the SSB interview and medical tests. She has been selected for the Air Force wing and, after completing her training, will join as a flying officer.
Navya says she is deeply inspired by the life story of Colonel Sophia Qureshi, the first female officer to lead a UN mission. Navya says, "I want my name to be remembered in the service of the nation – with honesty, bravery, and dedication.
Wave of Happiness in the Administration and City
Navya's achievement has been celebrated by everyone from the Ujjain district administration to schools and coaching institutions. The District Collector has announced a special honor for Navya. A new energy is visible among the city's youth, especially girls. There has been a sudden increase in inquiries from girls about the NDA at coaching centers.
Navya's mother, Neelima, says, "We never imagined our daughter would one day fly a fighter plane. But she has proven that if the intention is firm, no dream remains incomplete." Her father, emotionally, said, "Daughters are not inferior to anyone – today Navya has proven this."
