CM Yogi Announces New Corporation and Youth Entrepreneur Scheme at UP Employment Fair 2025; Every Worker to Receive Minimum Wage; ODOP Scheme Recognizes 9 Million MSME Units.
UP News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Tuesday at the Employment Fair held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan that the Uttar Pradesh government will soon establish a new corporation. The primary objective of this corporation will be to ensure that every worker in the state receives a minimum wage without any deductions.
The Chief Minister stated that if every hand in the state receives work according to their skills, it would be highly beneficial for the state's progress. He also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has the world's largest youth population, and this energy of the youth can become the state's biggest strength in its development. Previously, the youth were forced to migrate, but now they are becoming centers of employment generation.
'One District One Product' Scheme Provides New Identity
The Chief Minister informed that before 2017, traditional industries in the state were on the verge of closure, but the 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) scheme has given a new identity to 9 million MSME units. Crores of people have gained employment through these units. During the Corona pandemic, when approximately 4 million workers returned to UP, they found work in their respective districts. Currently, 9.6 million MSME units are operating in the state, with each unit employing 1 to 10 people. The Chief Minister said that this scheme has been instrumental in promoting local employment and curbing migration in the state.
Youth Entrepreneur Scheme to Provide Interest-Free Loans
Yogi Adityanath announced that the Youth Entrepreneur Scheme has been launched on January 25, 2025, to make the youth self-reliant. Under this scheme, young entrepreneurs aged 21 to 40 will receive interest-free loans, while 10 percent of the margin will be provided by the government. The Chief Minister stated that so far, more than 70,000 youths have benefited from this scheme.
He also mentioned that in the last eight years, approximately 850,000 youths have been given government jobs transparently, including 200,000 police personnel and 156,000 teachers.
New Labs for Artificial Intelligence and Technical Training
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is the first state to implement the Skill Mission. Now, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Drone labs have been established here. Language training will also be provided to the youth for work abroad. He also stated that workers engaged in outsourcing should not be exploited. For this, 18 Atal Residential Schools and 57 Abhyudaya Schools will be opened for the children of laborers in the state.
New Initiatives and Digital Portals for Employment Mission
On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched the new logo of the Employment Mission. In addition, the Labor Court Setu Portal, the Industrial Tribunal's website, and the Monitoring Portal of Atal Residential Schools were inaugurated. The Chief Minister said that employment-related information will be easily available to the youth through these digital portals, and administrative transparency will be ensured.
Decline in Unemployment Rate, Increase in Female Labor Participation
At the event, Minister of Labor and Skill Development Anil Rajbhar stated that the unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh is now below 3 percent. Additionally, female labor participation, which was 14 percent in 2017, has now increased to over 36 percent. The Minister said that 10,000 youths will be given direct employment during the three-day Employment Fair. In the next phase, the target is to provide employment to more than 50,000 youths.
