Jaishingpur (Sultanpur) — A new strategy has been adopted to ensure the safety of motorcyclists traveling at night on the Purvanchal Expressway. Security teams deployed under the State Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will stop motorcyclists after 7 PM before they proceed, and provisions have been made to offer them rest and hot beverages like tea-coffee if they feel tired.

Ramjagat Tiwari, Security Officer of the Authority, stated that this step has been taken as accidents involving motorcyclists on the expressway were increasing due to fatigue on long journeys and reduced awareness during night hours. He clarified that it is not a complete night ban for motorcyclists, but merely a precautionary measure to allow tired late-night travelers to take a safe stop.

Under this initiative, special teams will be present at toll plazas and other checkpoints to help make motorcyclists' journeys safer by providing rest breaks and beverages.

However, motorcyclists are undoubtedly not completely banned — officials are clarifying that this is a security-oriented stoppage at night, and biking has not been fully prohibited.

The campaign also instructs that if motorcyclists feel tired, security personnel will stop them for a while, offer hot beverages, and advise them to resume their journey.
