US Deploys Warships Near Venezuela, Maduro Condemns 'New War' Amid Escalating Tensions

The US has increased pressure on Venezuela by deploying the USS Gravely and moving the USS Gerald R. Ford towards it. President Maduro has called this a new war. Joint military exercises are ongoing in Trinidad and Tobago.

World News: The United States has deployed the warship USS Gravely in Trinidad and Tobago to increase military pressure on Venezuela. Concurrently, the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is also advancing towards Venezuela. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has described this move as an American attempt to wage a new war against his country. This development has heightened tensions in the Caribbean region.

Deployment of USS Gravely

The US warship USS Gravely has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago, near the Venezuelan coast. The Pentagon has stated its objective as curbing drug trafficking and increasing pressure on Venezuelan President Maduro. The arrival of the warship was announced by the Trinidad government on Thursday. The vessel will remain in the capital, Port of Spain, and a detachment of US Marines will conduct joint training with local defense forces.

US Campaign Begins

The USS Gravely's deployment is part of a military campaign launched by US President Donald Trump against drug trafficking organizations in Latin America. This campaign specifically targets Maduro. The US military has claimed to have destroyed at least 10 boats, which were reportedly involved in drug trafficking. At least 43 people were killed in these attacks. Trump has also threatened ground attacks on suspected cartels in Venezuela.

In addition to the USS Gravely, the US aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is also heading towards Venezuela. Maduro has described this as an attempt by the US government to initiate a new war against his country.

Role of Trinidad and Tobago

The government of Trinidad and Tobago and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar have supported the US military presence. A senior military official stated that the decision to send the warship was made recently. The presence of the US vessel there will ensure joint exercises and security cooperation between the two nations.

Allegations Against Maduro

The US has accused Maduro of being the leader of an organized crime gang called Tren de Aragua, without presenting concrete evidence. US officials state that maintaining pressure on Venezuela and its president is essential to help curb drug trafficking and maintain stability in the region.

The objective of the joint military activities between Trinidad and the US is not only training but also strengthening regional security. With the arrival of the warship and aircraft carrier, forces from both countries will conduct training and develop strategic plans with local security forces.

US military pressure on Venezuela has escalated tensions in the Caribbean region. Maduro has described this as an attack on his country's sovereignty by the US, stating that they are ready to respond to any foreign intervention.
