Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe heat conditions, making daily life difficult for residents as temperatures in several districts have reached up to 47.6 degrees Celsius. Intense sunlight and hot winds have kept both days and nights unusually warm.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for 50 districts in the state. According to the department, there is little likelihood of relief over the next few days.

The impact of the extreme heat is also being observed among animals. In several districts, showers have been installed to provide relief to cattle from the heat. Continuous water spraying is being carried out at animal shelters and cow shelters.

Hospitals across Uttar Pradesh have intensified preparations to deal with heatwave-related conditions. Cold rooms have been set up for patients to provide immediate relief to those suffering from heat stroke and dehydration.

Roads are witnessing reduced activity during afternoon hours, with people stepping outside only for essential work. Crowds at markets and public places have also declined in several cities.

Doctors have advised people to avoid exposure to sunlight during afternoon hours, drink more water and wear light clothing. Elderly people, children and those who are ill have been advised to exercise additional caution.

The health department has placed hospitals on alert mode, with additional arrangements being made amid concerns over a rise in heat stroke cases.

Electricity consumption has reached record levels in several districts as continued use of air conditioners and coolers increases pressure on the power system. Complaints of power cuts have also emerged in some areas.

People are sharing photographs and videos of the extreme heat on social media. Some posts show empty roads, while others show animals sitting in water to seek relief.

Experts say heatwave incidents are becoming increasingly severe due to climate change. The rise in temperatures is having a visible impact on health, agriculture and electricity systems.

The India Meteorological Department has appealed to people to follow weather-related warnings and avoid going out in the sun unnecessarily.
