Uttar Pradesh Intensifies 'No Helmet, No Petrol' Rule Enforcement Until September 30

In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has started strict enforcement of the 'No Helmet, No Petrol' rule. The campaign will run until September 30. Drivers not wearing helmets will face challans, and a doubled penalty for rule violations.

UP: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has once again intensified its strictness to ensure compliance with the 'No Helmet, No Petrol' rule. The administration has issued directives that during this campaign, which will continue until September 30, all administrative and police officers will be present on the roads to educate drivers about the importance of wearing helmets. This campaign is being conducted with the objective of improving road safety and reducing accidents.

Action on the First Day

On the first day of the campaign, ARTO Shivam Yadav and Traffic In-charge Pradeep Sengar visited various petrol pumps in the city. They informed drivers about the rule and clarified that petrol or diesel would not be provided without a helmet. During this period, challans were issued to 45 drivers to send a b message to rule violators. Although large-scale enforcement has not yet commenced, a warning has been issued that rule violations will not be tolerated.

Appeal for Cooperation from Pump Owners

During the campaign, it is also being ensured that petrol pump owners enforce the rule and do not show any leniency in providing helmets. The administration has requested pump owners to cooperate with the administration in this campaign and refrain from dispensing fuel to individuals without helmets.

Experience from the Previous Campaign and New Strictness

This rule was previously implemented seven months ago, and at that time, orders were posted at pumps to encourage people to wear helmets. However, due to a lax approach, it was not followed in many places. Some cunning individuals had turned it into a source of income. The issue of providing helmets on rent came to light, where drivers were given helmets for Rs. 10 and returned them after filling petrol.

Now, the administration has made it clear that in such cases, both the driver and the person providing the helmet will face a doubled penalty. This step has been taken to ensure strict adherence to the rule and to prevent any form of arbitrary behavior.

Responsibility for Cooperation and Joint Action

The Transport Department, Traffic Department, District Supply Officer, and local police will conduct joint actions during the campaign. The aim is to ensure that rules are followed on the roads and the possibility of accidents is reduced. All officials have been ordered to take strict action against rule violators and to convey the importance of wearing helmets to the public.

Message for Drivers

The government's message is clear: drivers not wearing helmets will not receive petrol. This is not only for enforcing the law but also essential for ensuring road safety. Officials believe that the campaign will increase awareness among drivers and, in the long run, reduce road accidents. In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has started strict enforcement of the 'No Helmet, No Petrol' rule. The campaign will run until September 30. Drivers not wearing helmets will face challans, and a doubled penalty for rule violations.
