Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand took a historic step on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, announcing the state's first 'Yoga Policy'. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami formally unveiled this policy during a state-level yoga program held at the Bhararisain Assembly complex in Karnprayag, practicing yoga alongside over 800 participants.
As the world celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day, focusing on India, Devbhoomi Uttarakhand showcased a confluence of nature, tradition, and spirituality, elevating India's yoga philosophy to new heights. The event was attended by Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, local MLA Anil Nautiyal, renowned yoga guru Bharat Bhushan, and diplomats from several countries.
Uttarakhand's Yoga Policy: A Holistic Approach
The 'Uttarakhand Yoga Policy 2025', presented by CM Dhami, is a significant endeavor to establish the state as a global center for yoga. The policy aims not only to promote yoga but also to integrate it with education, tourism, employment, and health, making it a means of socio-economic development. - Yoga education will be made mandatory in government schools and colleges.
