West Indies Lose Early Wickets
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, West Indies did not make the expected start. Pakistan's bowlers maintained pressure in the opening overs and restricted the top-order batters.
Opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul was dismissed for 15, while Keacy Carty also departed after scoring 10. Amir Jangoo made 26 from 55 balls but was unable to convert his start into a bigger score. Shai Hope was dismissed for 29 as West Indies continued to lose wickets.
Brandon King Scores 46
Brandon King added 46 runs from 50 balls in the middle order, hitting nine fours. His innings helped maintain the scoring rate and prevented Pakistan from taking complete control.
King's dismissal left West Indies at 173 for five.
Greaves and Chase Add Unbeaten 66 Runs
Justin Greaves and captain Roston Chase then put together an unbeaten sixth-wicket partnership of 66 runs.
Greaves remained unbeaten on 64 from 125 balls at the end of the day's play. Chase was unbeaten on 36 from 70 deliveries, including five fours.
Their partnership took West Indies to 239 for five at stumps on the opening day.
Mohammad Ali Takes Two Wickets
Mohammad Ali was Pakistan's most successful bowler, taking two wickets. Ubaid Shah, Ali Usman and Sajid Khan claimed one wicket each.
Pakistan were unable to break the Greaves-Chase partnership during the final session, leaving the pair unbeaten at the close of play.
