A tragic incident occurred on October 19, 2025, in Rath town of Hamirpur district, where a woman lost her life due to a fight between two bulls on the road.
Details of the Incident
46-year-old Sushila Devi had come to Rath town with her 20-year-old son, Pramod, for Diwali shopping. In the evening, they were returning to their village, Malhaunwa, by bike. Near the cattle market located on Malhaunwa Road, two bulls were fighting. Due to the bulls' fight, they fell onto the road, and Sushila's bike collided with them. In this collision, Sushila fell on the road and sustained serious head injuries. She was immediately admitted to the hospital, but she passed away during treatment. Her son, Pramod, also sustained injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Administrative Response
Following the incident, local residents have demanded that stray cattle roaming in the town be confined to cowsheds to prevent such incidents in the future. The police conducted a post-mortem examination of the body and handed it over to the family, and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
