Xiaomi on Thursday launched the Redmi 17 5G in China. The budget smartphone features a 6,300mAh battery, a 120Hz display, and a Unisoc T8300 chipset. It is currently available for purchase in China through the company's official website.
The Redmi 17 5G starts at CNY 999 (approximately ₹14,000) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately ₹17,000). The smartphone is available in Cold Mist Blue, Feather Mist White, and Star Rock Black colour options. Sales are currently limited to the Chinese market.
The Redmi 17 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 800 nits peak brightness, DC Dimming, and Wet Touch 2.0.
The smartphone is powered by the 6nm Unisoc T8300 octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. It is paired with a Mali G57 GPU, up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. The device runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3.
For photography, the Redmi 17 5G is equipped with a 13-megapixel single rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone packs a 6,300mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, GPS, Galileo, and QZSS. The device also includes an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, and an e-compass. It weighs approximately 210 grams and has a thickness of 8.15mm.
