Mamdani's Promises on Economic Issues
Mamdani made economic inequality and the cost of living the central issues in his election campaign. He promised rent freezes for tenants in rent-stabilized homes, construction of affordable housing, free and fast bus services, free childcare, and the establishment of city-owned grocery stores. Additionally, he proposed raising taxes on the wealthy.
A Strong Stance on Social Issues
In his speech, Mamdani also stated that his objective is to balance the cost of living in the city and to provide better facilities for citizens.
