Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has made a significant announcement regarding his 52nd birthday (July 1st). He has clearly stated to party workers and supporters that he will not accept any gifts, floral bouquets, statues, photographs, or any replicas of the party symbol, the 'cycle', this time.
Akhilesh has appealed that the birthday be celebrated with simplicity and discipline. His message is clear—if anything is to be given, it should be for the legacy of Netaji.
Instead of Gifts, Give Faith Contribution
Akhilesh Yadav has requested supporters to contribute to the 'Samajwadi Smarak' (Socialist Memorial) being built in the memory of the late leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, instead of giving gifts. He has termed this as 'faith contribution' and stated that this contribution will symbolize the preservation of socialist ideology and the memories of Netaji.
The SP chief informed that the names of those making contributions will be published in the 'Samajwadi Smarak Sahyog Pustika' (Socialist Memorial Contribution Booklet). He appealed to the workers to officially deposit this contribution at the party office.
Attacked the BJP Government
The SP president also launched a sharp attack on the BJP on Sunday. After a meeting of the 'Vyapar Sabha' (Trade Council) at the party headquarters, while talking to the media, he quipped about the 'double-engine government', saying that all the engines of the ruling party are busy looking for fuel.
He alleged that a new kind of 'emergency' has been imposed on traders at economic and social levels under the BJP rule. Akhilesh said that the trading community is in crisis and the government is only busy with showmanship.
During the meeting, problems related to traders were discussed, and Akhilesh assured that the Samajwadi Party will continue to fight at every level to protect the interests of traders.
This stance of Akhilesh Yadav presents him as a responsible and modest leader, who emphasizes not only celebrations but also ideology. This appeal for the 'Samajwadi Smarak' in the memory of Netaji can infuse new energy and purpose among party workers.
