Amarnath Yatra 2025: Offline Registration Begins, Security Enhanced, and Devotees Show Confidence

This year, the pilgrimage for the Amarnath Yatra will commence on July 3rd, with the offline registration process also underway. The administration has established special registration centers for devotees who haven't yet registered online.

New Delhi: Preparations for the Amarnath Yatra 2025 are in full swing, and there's good news for devotees who haven't registered yet. The administration has started immediate registration from June 30th, allowing for registration even at the last moment. This registration is being conducted on a first-come, first-served basis at specially established token centers in Jammu.

SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa, informed that a single token center has been opened at Saraswati Dham, where tokens for both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes are available. The Amarnath Yatra will begin on July 3, 2025, including the 14-kilometer steep climb of the Baltal route and the 48-kilometer-long Pahalgam route. The Baltal route is considered slightly challenging for the elderly, while the Pahalgam route is relatively easier.

How to Register

Devotees who haven't registered online can now register at the immediate registration counters set up in Jammu. For this, pilgrims need to bring their Aadhaar card, four passport-size photos, a medical fitness certificate (from a doctor authorized by SASB), and other identification documents like a voter ID or PAN card.

A medical checkup is mandatory before registration. Only after this will tokens be issued to the devotees. The offline registration fee for Indian citizens is Rs 120 per person, while the online registration fee is Rs 220 per person.

First Batch to Depart on July 2nd

The first batch of the yatra will depart from the Jammu base camp on July 2nd. The administration stated that extensive security arrangements have been made this time. The CRPF, Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and J&K SDRF have been deployed on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Special surveillance is being maintained on NH-44. Everything from dog squads to high-tech surveillance is being used.

A mock drill was also conducted on Sunday between Samroli and Toldi Nala, assessing the preparedness to deal with disasters like landslides. The mock drill practiced the process of rescuing trapped vehicles, transporting the injured to safe places, and providing emergency medical aid.

Enthusiasm Among Devotees, Fear Overcome

Despite the recent terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area, there was no fear among the devotees. A devotee who reached the registration center said, "We have complete faith in Baba Amarnath. Those who want to scare us will fail. Our faith is unwavering." Another devotee said, "We are with the government and the army. Their security arrangements are b, we have no worries."

Statement by SDM

SDM Manu Hansa said, "We have opened the only center in Jammu at Saraswati Dham where tokens for both routes are available. Apart from this, 3 more registration centers have been established in Jammu city, while 6-6 token centers have been fixed for Baltal and Pahalgam. Complete care is being taken to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience."

The Amarnath Yatra is a difficult and high-altitude trek where one faces oxygen deficiency and cold. In such a situation, the medical fitness certificate ensures that the devotee's health is suitable for this challenging journey. No one will be allowed to travel without a medical certificate. The administration has appealed to all devotees to keep all their documents ready for registration and avoid any rumors. Cooperate at the registration center so that the process can be made simple and faster.
