Japan Braces for Potential Earthquake and Tsunami: The 2025 Prediction of Rio Tatsuki

As July 5, 2025, approaches, discussions intensify in Japan regarding the predictions of Baba Vanga, a Japanese writer named Rio Tatsuki. Tatsuki, a manga comics author, had warned of a severe earthquake and tsunami in Japan on this date.

Japani Baba Vanga Prediction: A sense of unease is currently palpable in Japan. The cause is the prediction made by Rio Tatsuki, known as the 'Japanese Baba Vanga,' concerning 2025. Rio Tatsuki, a manga comics author by profession, wrote in his book "The Future I Saw," published in 1999, about a devastating earthquake and tsunami striking Japan on July 5, 2025. As July 5 nears, both fear and curiosity are growing among the populace.

How dangerous is the prediction?

Tatsuki claims that this earthquake will be far more catastrophic than the 2011 Tohoku disaster, which claimed the lives of approximately 20,000 people. According to the book, in July 2025, a deep fissure will appear in the sea between Japan and the Philippines, causing massive waves in the Pacific Ocean that will wreak havoc on the Rim (countries bordering the Pacific).

Moreover, he warned that this tsunami could completely destroy large parts of the Japanese archipelago. Because some of Tatsuki's previous predictions have been claimed to have come true, people are not taking this lightly.

Predictions of the 2011 earthquake and COVID were also made

Interestingly, Tatsuki's book came into sudden prominence in 2020 when people noticed that it mentioned the 2011 earthquake. The book stated, "I saw that the water level of the sea south of Japan suddenly rose and huge waves arose." This description matches the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, which claimed thousands of lives.

Furthermore, Tatsuki had also predicted the spread of a deadly virus (COVID-19) in 2020 in his comics. He wrote that this virus would return in the future, causing people and governments to panic again.

He also mentioned the dream of Freddie Mercury and the Kobe earthquake

Rio Tatsuki also claimed in his book to have had a dream about the death of the famous singer Freddie Mercury. The book stated that on November 24, 1976, he had a premonition of Mercury's death, and in fact, Mercury passed away on the same date in 1991. Similarly, Tatsuki had predicted the Great Hanshin Earthquake (Kobe earthquake) of 1995, in which more than 5,000 people lost their lives. Due to such examples, people are also worried about his 2025 prediction.

Japan is a highly sensitive country in terms of earthquakes, but scientists and administrative officials there completely dismiss Rio Tatsuki's prediction. The Japanese Meteorological Agency says that accurate prediction of earthquakes and tsunamis is not possible with current scientific means, and there is no need to be afraid based on a comic book or a dream.

An official said that people should rely on scientific facts instead of being alarmed by rumors. Japan has a b disaster management system and is fully prepared to deal with any emergency.

15-year cycle and an ‘if-then’ condition

Another interesting thing is said about Rio Tatsuki's prediction. It is said that his predictions are based on a 15-year cycle. That is, if nothing happens on July 5, 2025, then this prediction will be shifted forward by 15 years – i.e., until 2040. He wrote something similar about the return of COVID-19 that if the pandemic does not return in 2030, then the world will be safe until 2045.

There is tremendous discussion about Rio Tatsuki's name on social media. Some people consider him like Baba Vanga, whose predictions have also been found to be accurate many times. On the other hand, people are also exercising restraint after the warnings of scientists. The administration in Japan has kept emergency services in active mode so that relief can be provided immediately in case of any natural disaster.
