Madhya Pradesh: Ladli Behna Yojana to Increase Monthly Aid to ₹1500 After Diwali

In Madhya Pradesh, the amount for the Ladli Behna Yojana will be increased to ₹1500 per month from ₹1250 after Diwali. CM Mohan Yadav announced this at the Women Empowerment Conference.

MP News: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a big gift for the women of Madhya Pradesh after Diwali. The monthly financial assistance for the Ladli Behna Yojana will be increased from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500. This decision will benefit more than 1.27 crore women. The government has allocated a total budget of ₹27,147 crore for women empowerment.

Increased Assistance in Ladli Behna Yojana

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced during the Women Empowerment and Tribal Pride Conference that the monthly financial assistance provided under the Ladli Behna Yojana will be increased by ₹250. After Diwali, women will now receive ₹1,500 every month. Currently, this amount is ₹1,250 per month.

The objective of this scheme is to financially empower women in the state and strengthen their social status. The Chief Minister stated that 1.27 crore women are benefiting from this scheme.

Announcement of Special Budget

The Chief Minister stated that the government has allocated a special budget of ₹27,147 crore for women's welfare. Out of this, ₹18,699 crore has been reserved for the Ladli Behna Yojana alone. The aim of this amount is to make women self-reliant by providing them with financial assistance.

Additional Benefit Received on Raksha Bandhan

Earlier, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Ladli Behna beneficiaries were given an additional ₹250 as a special gift. This brought the total amount received by women to ₹1,500. This was considered another effort by the government towards respect and empowerment of women.

Mention of Ladli Lakshmi Yojana

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also mentioned at the conference that under the Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, ₹672 crore has been provided to 51 lakh daughters in the state so far. Through this scheme, the government is ensuring the education, nutrition, and social security of girls.

Initiation and History of the Yojana

The Ladli Behna Yojana was launched on June 10, 2023, by the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. At that time, women were provided with assistance of ₹1,000 per month under the scheme. Later, this amount was increased to ₹1,250 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Now, after Diwali, it will be increased to ₹1,500 per month.

Impact of the Scheme in Elections

The Ladli Behna Yojana is considered a major reason for the Bharatiya Janata Party's success in the November 2023 assembly elections. This scheme strengthened the government's image among women and received support from a large number of female voters.

Benefits to the Tribal Community as well

The Chief Minister also informed that more than 9,000 tribal families have been given land ownership under the Forest Rights Act. Along with this, it was also mentioned that women will be given 33 percent reservation in the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections. This is part of the government's inclusive policy.
