The monsoon is active across the country, with varying effects in different states. While Delhi-NCR is grappling with humid heat, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka are experiencing deteriorating conditions due to torrential rainfall.
Weather Forecast: Delhi-NCR is once again facing oppressive humidity. However, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of intermittent rain with thunderstorms in Delhi for the next week, which may lead to a drop in temperature. Despite this, relief from the humidity will take time due to the increased moisture.
Meanwhile, the heavy rainfall continues in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, leading to waterlogging and landslides in many places.
Severe Humidity in Delhi-NCR
The humid heat has made life difficult for people in Delhi-NCR for the past few days. The temperature is consistently reaching 36-37 degrees Celsius, and the humidity is around 80%, intensifying the sticky heat. However, according to the IMD, there is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in Delhi from July 4 to 8.
This will bring a slight decrease in the maximum and minimum temperatures, which may provide some relief to people. The temperature is expected to drop to 33 degrees Celsius around July 6, but the humidity may reach 90%, which could maintain the humidity problem.

Red Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Karnataka
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Karnataka for 7 days. The possibility of b winds at speeds of 30-40 kmph and very heavy rainfall has been predicted, especially in the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi. The Meteorological Department stated that this situation is due to the monsoon trough and offshore trough. The situation is expected to remain the same for the next two days, and the intensity of the rain may decrease slightly thereafter.
According to senior scientists at IMD, the active monsoon trough will bring heavy rainfall in many places in central and northwest India. There will be a risk of landslides and flash floods in the hilly states, so people should be cautious.
