PM Modi Awarded Ghana's Highest Civilian Honor, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

PM Modi Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with 'The Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana', the country's highest civilian honor, at a ceremony held in the capital of Ghana. On this occasion, several important agreements were signed between India and Ghana in areas such as defense, security, education, agriculture, and skill development.

Ghana Honors PM Modi with Top Award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded 'The Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana', the country's highest civilian honor, during his historic visit to Ghana. This honor was conferred upon him by Ghanaian President John Mahama at a special ceremony. The award was given to the Prime Minister for strengthening relations between the two countries and for reinforcing India's role at the global level.

Award Dedicated to 1.4 Billion Indians

PM Modi expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Ghana for the honor. He stated that he was accepting the award on behalf of 1.4 billion Indians. The Prime Minister dedicated it to the youth of India and Ghana, saying that the youth of both countries would together build a better future.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Mahama, an agreement was reached to take the bilateral relationship to new heights. Both countries decided to further strengthen political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

India and Ghana decided to increase cooperation in the defense and security sector. Both countries expressed their agreement to work jointly in the fields of cyber security, counter-terrorism, and defense technology.

Cooperation in Skill Development

India will establish a skill development center in Ghana so that youth can receive modern technical and vocational training. This initiative will provide new employment opportunities for the youth of Ghana and provide trained human resources to industries.

Expansion of Education and Scholarships

Prime Minister Modi announced that the number of scholarships offered to Ghana under ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation) and ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) would be doubled. This will enable a greater number of Ghanaian students to pursue higher education in India.

Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector

India has decided to support Ghana's Feed Ghana Program. Under this, India will assist Ghana in the areas of agricultural production, irrigation, and food processing. This cooperation will strengthen Ghana's food security and rural economy.

Promoting Trade and Investment

Trade and investment were also discussed during Prime Minister Modi's visit. India expressed its intention to increase investment in infrastructure, energy, health, and technology sectors in Ghana. Several Indian companies are exploring business opportunities in Ghana.

PM Modi's visit was an important part of India's Africa Policy. He emphasized giving priority to development-based cooperation with African countries. India views Africa as a reliable partner that believes in shared development and stability.
