A shocking incident has come to light from Pune city in Maharashtra. In a high-profile housing society in the Kondhwa area, an unidentified individual, posing as a courier delivery agent, allegedly raped a 25-year-old woman. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 7:30 PM when the woman was alone in her flat.
Following the victim's complaint, the police have registered a case against the unknown individual and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas is being examined to identify the perpetrator.
The Accused Entered the Flat Under the Pretext of a Parcel
According to the complaint, the accused presented himself as a courier delivery boy and entered the society. Upon reaching the victim's house, he handed her a parcel and asked her to sign for it. When the woman stated that the parcel was not hers, the accused insisted on her signing.
As the woman opened the security door of her flat and stepped outside, the accused suddenly took out a spray from his bag and sprayed it on her face. Due to the spray, the woman lost consciousness. The police suspect that the accused took advantage of this to commit the crime. However, the nature of the spray has yet to be confirmed.
The Accused Took a Selfie After the Rape
After the incident, the accused also took the victim's mobile phone and took a selfie with it. Additionally, he typed a message on the phone that read, "I will return." This revelation came to light during the police investigation, making the case even more serious.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. After regaining consciousness, the victim immediately informed the police, after which a case was registered at the Kondhwa police station. The police have also conducted a medical examination of the woman and registered a case under various sections.
Police are Engaged in Investigation
The Kondhwa police are taking this case seriously and investigating it from all angles. CCTV footage from the society is being examined to identify the accused. The police are also trying to find out how the accused entered the society and whether he received help from any insider.
Police officers have stated that teams have been formed to arrest the accused and that he will be apprehended soon.
