One police officer was injured in these incidents, while one criminal sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Police have arrested three accused in both cases.
Bulletproof Vest Saves Police Officer's Life
During the first encounter, a criminal fired two shots at the police team, one hitting Constable Sandeep in the abdomen and left arm. Fortunately, he was wearing a bulletproof vest, saving his life. In retaliation, the police also fired, and both criminals were apprehended.
Sultanpuri Robber Arrested
In the first case, the Outer District's Special Staff team took action. Police received information that a criminal involved in robberies in the Sultanpuri area was hiding in Santgarh, Tilak Nagar. Police raided the location at midnight, but the criminals attempted to escape. Constable Sandeep and Head Constable Vikas pursued them, apprehending them in a retaliatory firefight. Two country-made pistols, cartridges, and the motorcycle used in the escape were recovered from their possession.
Encounter in Janakpuri
In the second encounter, the West District's Operations team apprehended Akash Jha, alias Monu, a notorious criminal from Vikaspuri. He had previously been arrested in a firing case in Mayapuri and was released from jail in November 2024. Police received information that he was moving around the area with a pistol, threatening people.
At 1:30 AM on Thursday night, police raided Indra Camp in Vikaspuri, where the criminal opened fire on the police officers. However, the officers were wearing bulletproof vests, preventing any major injuries. Police arrested him on the spot.
