One Dead, One Critically Injured in Punjab Village Shooting Following Family Dispute

A man was killed and his brother critically injured in a shooting following a minor dispute in Bhullar village, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. The incident occurred late Saturday night when a pre-existing dispute between two families escalated violently.

Amritsar: In Bhullar village, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, a shooting following a minor dispute resulted in one death and serious injuries to the victim's brother. The dispute allegedly stemmed from the accused sending inappropriate messages to the brother of the deceased. Following an argument, the accused fired from a 12-bore shotgun. Police are investigating the incident and conducting raids to apprehend the accused.

An Old Dispute Takes a Violent Turn

According to police, there was pre-existing tension between the families of the deceased, Boota Singh, and the accused, Balwal Singh. The root of the conflict was allegedly a relationship between Boota Singh's daughter and the accused youth. The dispute intensified Saturday night when Balwal Singh sent inappropriate messages to the wife of Boota Singh's brother, Mandeep Singh. Boota Singh and Mandeep Singh went to the accused's house to lodge a complaint.

The argument escalated, and Balwal Singh fired from a 12-bore shotgun. One bullet struck Boota Singh in the chest, killing him instantly. Another bullet hit Mandeep Singh, causing serious injuries.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem. Injured Mandeep Singh was first taken to the government hospital in Sri Muktsar Sahib and later referred to Faridkot Medical College. Police are investigating the matter and conducting raids to arrest the accused.
