Intense heat continues to intensify across India. From the capital city of Delhi to Rajasthan, scorching hot winds have made life unbearable, while several parts of North and East India anticipate thunderstorms and rain.
Weather Update: Severe heat and heatwave conditions persist in many states across India, including the capital Delhi, while the mountains experience rain and snowfall. According to the weather forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for tomorrow, weather conditions will vary across different parts of the country. Northwestern India will continue to experience severe heat and heatwave conditions. Meanwhile, rain with thunderstorms is predicted in eastern and northeastern states.
Due to a western disturbance, a heavy rain and snowfall alert has been issued for the Himalayan regions. Weather in South Indian states will remain hot and humid.
Delhi-NCR to Sizzle Under Heat
Residents of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) have no immediate respite in sight. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will remain around 42 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The minimum temperature may reach 24 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain clear, and the scorching sun and hot winds will cause discomfort throughout the day. A red alert for heatwave conditions has also been issued. Doctors have advised the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions to exercise extra caution.
Uttar Pradesh: Rainfall in Eastern Parts, Heatwave in West
Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh will be divided into two parts. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is possible in eastern Uttar Pradesh cities like Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur. The maximum temperature here is expected to be around 36-38 degrees. Meanwhile, the heatwave will continue in western Uttar Pradesh, with temperatures reaching 41-43 degrees in areas like Meerut, Agra, and Aligarh. Dusty winds are also likely in western UP.
Bihar to Witness Thunderstorms and Rain
Bihar is expected to experience fluctuating weather conditions. Thunderstorms and light to moderate rain are anticipated in several districts, including Patna, Gaya, and Bhagalpur. Strong winds of 40-50 km/hour are possible. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these areas. Temperatures will remain between 35-37 degrees Celsius. Farmers have been advised to keep their crops in safe places and avoid open fields.
Clouds May Shower Jharkhand
Jharkhand is also expected to see a change in weather. Light rain with thunderstorms is possible in areas like Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad. The maximum temperature is likely to be 34-36 degrees, and the minimum temperature 22-23 degrees Celsius. People have been advised to remain cautious due to the possibility of lightning strikes.
Rajasthan: Scorching Desert Heat Reaches Peak Again
Rajasthan continues to grapple with intense heat. Temperatures are expected to reach 45-46 degrees Celsius in areas like Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Bikaner. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heatwave and heatstroke in western Rajasthan. Eastern Rajasthan will experience dry weather, but temperatures will remain between 40-42 degrees. Light dusty winds are possible in some areas, but there is no expectation of rain.
Madhya Pradesh: Overwhelmed by Scorching Heat
Conditions in Madhya Pradesh are also not much better. The maximum temperature may reach 41-43 degrees in western regions like Indore and Ujjain. Temperatures will be slightly lower, between 38-40 degrees, in eastern parts like Jabalpur and Sagar, but humidity will be a major issue. The weather will remain dry in most parts of the state, and the effect of the heatwave will continue.
Rain and Snowfall Alert for Hilly States
Weather conditions have changed again in the high-altitude areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain in Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, and Lahaul-Spiti, and snowfall in higher altitude areas is likely. Snowfall is also possible in areas like Gulmarg and Sonmarg in Jammu & Kashmir. An orange alert has been issued for these areas due to the activation of a western disturbance. Travelers and locals have been advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel.
South India to Experience Increased Heat and Humidity
Most parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka will experience increased heat and humidity. In major cities like Hyderabad and Chennai, the maximum temperature may be 36-38 degrees Celsius and the minimum 26-28 degrees Celsius. Light rain showers may occur in some areas, but there is currently no expectation of relief from the heat.
