India's Composed Batting, Pratika Rawal's Half-Century

Batting first, India posted 276 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. While not a massive score, it was considered challenging given the pitch conditions and slow outfield. The opening partnership was slow, but Pratika Rawal, batting at number three, played a sensible and impactful innings of 78 runs. She struck 7 fours and 1 six, maintaining a good run rate.

Other batters couldn't score big, but Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh accelerated in the final overs, pushing the team to a respectable total. Together, they added 55 runs in the last 6 overs, putting pressure on South Africa.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur then entrusted the ball to Sneha Rana, a decision that proved to be the turning point of the match. Rana took three wickets in the 48th over, shattering South Africa's hopes. She displayed an excellent mix of line, length, and flight, trapping the batters. This spell of magical bowling derailed the South African innings, and they were eventually bowled out for 261 in 49.2 overs.

Rana finished with 5 wickets in the match and was named Player of the Match. This is India's second consecutive win in the triangular series. Having previously defeated hosts Sri Lanka, India has now defeated South Africa, strengthening their position in the points table.
