Aamir Khan's film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has almost completed its three-week run at the box office, and it wouldn't be wrong to say that the film has delivered a stable and impressive performance.
Entertainment: Aamir Khan's highly anticipated film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' continues to hold a b position at the Box Office even after 21 days of release. This film not only marked a grand comeback for Aamir Khan but also established a new benchmark for emotional sports dramas in Indian cinema.
This film, starring Aamir Khan, was released in theaters on June 20th and has now completed its third week. Although there has been a decline in the film's earnings in the third week, its performance is still better compared to other released films, especially when compared to Kajol's film 'Maa' and Anurag Basu's 'Metro In Dino'.
Aamir Khan's Return to the Big Screen After Three Years
Aamir Khan made his comeback on the silver screen with 'Sitaare Zameen Par' after a long break of almost three years. Prior to this, he was seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' which was released in 2022. Before that, he had a major role in the 2018 film 'Thugs of Hindostan', which was not successful at the box office. 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for his sensitive filmmaking.
This film is considered an official sequel to Aamir's iconic film 'Taare Zameen Par' which came out in 2007, although its story is based on a completely new theme.
The Film's Unique Theme and Powerful Performances
The biggest strength of this film is its emotional storyline and characters that are close to reality. In the film, Genelia Deshmukh appears in the lead role along with Aamir Khan. But the real stars were the 10 children who have Down Syndrome and who were cast from real life. The film's story is based on the Spanish film Champions, which came out in 2018.
'Sitaare Zameen Par' can be called a beautiful blend of emotional drama and sports-comedy. The film not only entertains but also bly raises issues such as Disability Inclusion and Empathy.

Strong Performance Overseas
The film has performed exceptionally well not only in India but also in overseas markets. It has been particularly liked in markets like the US, UK, Canada, UAE, and Australia. The South Asian diaspora in these countries has highly appreciated this film, especially for its emotional appeal and social message.
The film is now facing tough competition from films like Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar's 'Malik', Kajol's 'Maa', and Anurag Basu's 'Metro In Dino'. However, due to the positive word of mouth from critics and audiences, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is still maintaining its hold.
