Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Central Government's Tariff Policy and Yogi Government's Flood Management

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has put the central government in the dock regarding America's tariff policy. He questioned the weak foreign policy in the face of foreign pressure and the Yogi government's failure to deal with the floods in Uttar Pradesh.

UP News: Reactions have intensified in the Indian political arena following US President Donald Trump's warning to increase tariffs on Indian products. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, terming the central government's foreign policy as weak, said that the government should come forward with a clear and concrete strategy to protect national interests.

He said that the opposition stands with the government on this issue, but the government's role seems ineffective. He also warned that if America increases its tariffs, it will directly affect India's economy and domestic companies will have to suffer serious losses.

Decline in the Indian Market

Donald Trump has indicated plans to impose heavy tariffs on pharmaceutical and semiconductor products. He said that in the next few years, these tariffs could reach 150% to 250%. The intention behind this is to boost America's domestic pharma industry.

Following this, there has been a stir in the Indian market and a decline has been recorded in the shares of pharmaceutical companies. Industry experts have described this as a major threat to India's export industry. If this policy is implemented, it could prove challenging for the pharma and chips sectors.

Cornering the Yogi Government

Akhilesh Yadav also criticized the state government regarding the deteriorating situation due to floods in Uttar Pradesh. He said that people are losing their lives, but no effective steps are being taken by the administration.

Accusing the government of insensitivity, he said that no one is listening to anyone in the state and the administrative machinery seems to have completely failed. He demanded that the state government immediately accelerate relief and rehabilitation efforts.
