Apollo Tyres to Sponsor Indian Cricket Team Until 2027

Following the exit of Dream11 as sponsor, Apollo Tyres has now become the new sponsor for the Indian cricket team. This information was confirmed to news agency PTI by a senior BCCI official on Tuesday. However, the board has not yet made any official announcement regarding this change.

Sports News: Big news for fans of Indian cricket. The Indian men's cricket team may soon see the name of Apollo Tyres on its jerseys. The BCCI has completed the process of making Apollo Tyres the new sponsor for Team India, and this contract is valid until 2027. Apollo Tyres is expected to gain significant recognition at national and international levels through this partnership.

Indian Team Takes the Field Without a Sponsor

The Indian men's cricket team has entered the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE without any jersey sponsor. Similarly, the women's team is also playing without a sponsor in the three-match ODI series against Australia. It is not yet clear whether the women's team's jersey will feature a new sponsor's name in the upcoming Women's ODI World Cup, which begins on September 30, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

BCCI's Agreement with Apollo Tyres

A senior BCCI official informed PTI that an agreement has been reached with Apollo Tyres and it will be officially announced soon. According to media reports, the contract is for a duration up to 2027, and Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 4.5 crore per match. This is higher than Dream11's previous deal of Rs 4 crore per match.

Apollo Tyres, Canva, and JK Tyre were among the bidders in the tender process. Birla Optic Paints had shown interest in investing but did not participate in the bidding process.

BCCI's Bidding Process

On September 2, the BCCI had invited applications for the main sponsorship rights of the Indian team. The board clarified that gaming, betting, crypto, and tobacco brands cannot participate in this bidding process. This step ensures that only positive and safe brands are identified on the Team India jersey.

This agreement will provide Apollo Tyres with significant branding and global recognition within India's busy international cricket calendar. This sponsorship is considered one of the largest and most profitable contracts undertaken by the BCCI in recent years. Previously, Dream11 was the jersey sponsor for Team India, having replaced Byju's. However, Dream11 had to exit the contract due to the recently passed Online Gaming Bill 2025. Dream11 is a betting-related app and was recently banned. Consequently, the Rs 358 crore contract was terminated prematurely.
