Ashok Gehlot Predicts Congress Victory in Bihar, Takes Dig at Nitish Kumar

Congress's senior leaders have increased their activity regarding the Bihar Assembly elections. Ashok Gehlot, Congress's Senior Observer and former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, has made a significant claim about electoral victory.

Patna: Even before submitting his report to the Congress high command ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the party's Senior Observer and former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has made a significant claim. Gehlot stated that Congress could win the elections in Bihar, although he also raised some questions regarding the voter list and the electoral process.

Gehlot was appointed as a senior observer for the Bihar Assembly elections on Saturday. Alongside him, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have also been made Senior Observers. These three leaders will play crucial roles for the Congress, from candidate selection and election campaigning to the final results.

Impact of Rahul Gandhi's Yatra in Bihar

Ashok Gehlot, highlighting the positive impact of Congress President Rahul Gandhi's visit to Bihar, stated that this campaign is resonating among the people. He said, "Rahul Gandhi's 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhoro' (Vote Thief, Leave the Throne) campaign has had a widespread effect in Bihar. This has increased voter awareness and strengthened faith in democracy."

Emphasizing the importance of electoral strategy, Gehlot stated that if the voter list remains fair and accurate, democracy will be strengthened. He warned that irregularities in the voter list could harm democracy.

Gehlot's Dig at Nitish Kumar

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also took a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He stated that frequently switching alliances has tarnished Kumar's political image. Gehlot explained, "I have known Nitish Kumar for a long time and have been with him in Parliament. The way he was before has changed now. Constantly changing alliances and adopting new strategies is pulling down his political graph."

Gehlot recalled that Nitish used to talk about becoming Prime Minister and forming alliances. He even resigned from the Chief Minister's post and made several remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, due to presenting a new persona, his image has weakened.

Mahagathbandhan and Congress's Prospects

Ashok Gehlot also highlighted the potential for the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). He said, "Last time, the elections were fought in an alliance. This time too, there is a possibility that a Mahagathbandhan government can be formed in Bihar. If the alliance is b and the voter list is fair, the path to victory could open for Congress." Gehlot further added that transparency and a fair process in elections are extremely important. He emphasized the significance of Rahul Gandhi's visit and campaign in this context.
