Political activity has intensified regarding the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Amidst this, Union Minister and HAM party president Jitan Ram Manjhi made a significant statement on Wednesday (October 08, 2025). Patna: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi made a surprising statement on Wednesday (October 08, 2025) ahead of seat-sharing in the NDA. Manjhi stated, "We have no dispute over seats. We are demanding seats that are worthy of recognition in the Bihar Assembly." He also clarified that this expectation is because his party does not seek the post of Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister.
The Union Minister further added, "We just want our party to be recognized; that is our main demand." When asked what they would do if this didn't happen, Manjhi replied, "Then we will not contest even a single seat, but we will remain in the NDA."
Jitan Ram Manjhi's Statement
Jitan Ram Manjhi told reporters, "We just want our party to be recognized. Therefore, this is our main demand. We are not after any position or power. If this doesn't happen, we will not contest even a single seat, but will continue to remain in the NDA." Manjhi's statement has created new stir in Bihar's political equations. Deliberations are still ongoing among all major leaders, including BJP and JDU, regarding seat-sharing within the NDA.
According to sources, as per the formula so far, Jitan Ram Manjhi might be given seven seats. However, Manjhi is demanding 15 seats for his party. Major NDA parties like JDU and BJP are not in favor of giving so many seats. Furthermore, Chirag Paswan is also not satisfied with the seat allocation. This is why the formal announcement of seat-sharing in the NDA has not yet been made.
