ATS Completes Remand of Conversion Racket Masterminds Changur and Neetu

ATS completes one-week remand of Changur and Neetu, the masterminds of the conversion racket. The court ordered both to be sent to Lucknow Jail. Investigations in the case are ongoing.

UP: The ATS has completed its remand period for Jalaluddin alias Changur and Neetu alias Nasreen, who were arrested in a major conversion case in Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday evening, the ATS presented both of them in the NIA court. The court ordered them to be sent to jail. Both have been lodged in separate barracks in Lucknow Jail.

ATS conducted important interrogations during the one-week remand

The ATS had taken Changur and Neetu on a one-week remand from the NIA court. During the remand, the ATS team took them to Balrampur, where they conducted raids at several locations. During the investigation, documents, digital devices, and information about illegal activities related to the gang were collected. Changur is accused of entrapping Hindu women and converting them to another religion.

ATS investigating illegal activities

The ATS has found evidence of several suspicious activities of Changur and his gang in Balrampur and surrounding areas. During this time, several locations were identified where conversion activities were allegedly carried out. The ATS is planning further action based on the evidence found at these locations.

Husband and wife face each other in jail

After Changur and Neetu were admitted to Lucknow District Jail, both were kept in separate barracks. According to the jail administration, Neetu's husband, Naveen alias Jamaluddin, is already in the same jail. Now, all three main accused are present in the same jail. Keeping security in mind, all of them have been kept under high-security surveillance in the jail.

More names linked to the conversion racket

The ATS investigation is now moving towards those who may be indirectly connected to this gang. Based on the data found from Changur's mobile and documents, some more suspects are being identified. Several other arrests are also possible soon.
