Sports News: The Australian team has been hit by two significant blows ahead of the three-match ODI series against India, commencing on October 19. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa and wicketkeeper Josh Inglis have both been ruled out of the first ODI. Matthew Kuhnemann has been named as Zampa's replacement, while Josh Philippe will step in for Inglis. Zampa will miss the first match due to personal reasons, as his wife is expecting. Inglis, on the other hand, has not fully recovered from a calf injury.

Adam Zampa Out Due to Personal Reasons, Josh Inglis Due to Injury

Adam Zampa will be unavailable for the first ODI due to the impending birth of his second child with his wife, Harriet. Considering the considerable distance and travel challenges from Perth to New South Wales, Zampa has opted to remain with his family. Nevertheless, he is anticipated to rejoin the squad for the second and third ODIs, scheduled to be held in Adelaide and Sydney. Following the ODI series, he is also expected to feature in Australia's five-match T20I series.

Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis has not yet made a full recovery from his calf injury. He sustained the injury during a running session in Perth, an incident that also led to his withdrawal from the New Zealand tour. Inglis will miss both the first and second ODIs, but there is optimism that he will regain fitness in time for the third ODI in Sydney.

Matthew Kuhnemann's ODI Comeback After Three Years

Matthew Kuhnemann has been brought into the squad for the first ODI, marking his return to ODI cricket after an absence of nearly three years. His last appearances in the format were four ODI matches played in Sri Lanka in 2022. This upcoming game will be Kuhnemann's first ODI on Australian soil. Over the past year, Kuhnemann has been part of numerous tours with the Australian team, including the World Test Championship final and trips to West Indies, South Africa, and New Zealand. Despite these tours, he has only featured in one international match during this period.

Alex Carey will not participate in the first ODI. He is slated to play a Sheffield Shield fixture for Queensland in Adelaide and will join the national squad from the second ODI onwards. All-rounder Cameron Green is prepared to play the first two ODIs in Perth and Adelaide but might miss the third ODI due to his commitments in a Shield match.
