Stir intensifies over NDA seat-sharing in Bihar. Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi may meet Nityanand Rai in Delhi with their demands. Alliance strategy continues between BJP and its allies.
Bihar Election: The dates for the Assembly elections in Bihar have been announced, but seat-sharing within the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) has not yet been finalized. This time, intense discussions are underway between the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and its allies regarding seat distribution in Bihar. According to sources, BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan left for Delhi this morning and will hold meetings with allies regarding seat sharing.
Meeting in Delhi and Nityanand Rai's Encounter
According to sources, Nityanand Rai may meet Chirag Paswan in Delhi. The objective behind this is to establish coordination and build consensus on seat-sharing among the NDA's allied parties. Several leaders, including Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, State President Dilip Jaiswal, and Samrat Chaudhary, are continuously engaged in discussions on this matter.
Dharmendra Pradhan is taking on this responsibility after yesterday's meeting in Patna. He will coordinate the seat distribution among NDA allies and is expected to return to Patna by evening.
Chirag Paswan's Demand
Chirag Paswan is demanding at least 30 seats for his party, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). His party currently has five Members of Parliament. This time, the BJP is proposing that they field candidates on 25 seats.
Last time, Chirag had fielded candidates on 135 seats independently. Among these, only his candidate Rajkumar Singh won from the Matihani constituency. Meanwhile, Chirag's candidates secured the second position on 10 other seats. His demand is so significant this time to increase his party's influence and strengthen its position with allied parties in the upcoming elections.
Jitan Ram Manjhi's Demand
Additionally, Jitan Ram Manjhi, chief of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), has also put forth a firm demand. He stated that his party should be allocated at least 15 seats within the NDA. Manjhi has warned through media and tweets that if his demand is not met, his party will not contest the elections.
Manjhi's demand is significant because it aims for his party to gain recognition as a recognized party and maintain its political prestige. This move is seen as an effort to strengthen his strategy in the elections and his position within the alliance.
NDA's Previous Achievements in Bihar Assembly Elections
In the Bihar Assembly elections 2020, the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) participated as a four-party coalition. Last time, the BJP won the highest number of seats with 74, while the JDU (Janata Dal (United)) secured 43 seats. HAM and VIP each won 4 seats. Thus, the NDA collectively secured 125 seats.
