Cash for Vote Case: Supreme Court Urged to Reopen Probe Against CMs Naidu and Reddy

The troubles of Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy might increase. Jerusalem Mathaiah, an accused in the 'Cash for Vote' case, has written a letter to the Supreme Court demanding action against both.

Cash For Vote: The difficulties for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appear to be escalating. Jerusalem Mathaiah, an accused in the 'Cash for Vote' case, has written a letter to the Supreme Court, demanding action against both Chief Ministers.

The letter was written on September 23, 2025. Mathaiah has also appealed to the Supreme Court to reopen the investigation into the case and to ban the TDP and Congress parties.

Allegation of Rs 5 Crore Bribe

Jerusalem Mathaiah is both an accused and a victim in this case. He claimed that he took this step at the behest of the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his associate Revanth Reddy. Mathaiah stated that in 2016, he was ordered to offer a bribe of Rs 5 crore to a TRS MLA.

In the letter, Mathaiah has held Chandrababu Naidu, his son Lokesh Naidu, and other TDP leaders responsible. He also implicated the police and investigating agencies in the allegations. He has demanded strict action against all accused, including Revanth Reddy.

Demand for New Investigation from Supreme Court

Mathaiah explicitly stated in the letter that the previous investigation into the case was insufficient. He urged the Supreme Court to conduct a fresh investigation into the matter. He believes this would not only identify the culprits but also ensure accountability from political parties.

The 'Cash For Vote' Case

This case first came to light in 2015. At that time, Revanth Reddy, then a TDP MLA, was accused of attempting to bribe a Telangana Legislative Council member to buy a vote. An audio recording of this conversation was leaked, which purportedly contained Chandrababu Naidu's voice.

However, no action was taken against anyone at the time due to a lack of concrete evidence. Now, following Jerusalem Mathaiah's letter, the case has once again garnered attention.
