CSIR UGC NET 2025: Today is the last day to register for the CSIR UGC NET examination. Candidates who are preparing to appear for this exam now have only until today, October 24. According to the notification issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the last date for application submission is set until 11:50 PM tonight. No new applications will be accepted after this time.

Last Date for Fee Payment

After registration, candidates will need to pay the examination fee (application fee) online. The last date for fee submission is set for October 25, 2025. Candidates can pay the fee through debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking.

Following this, the application correction facility will be available from October 27 to October 29. During this period, candidates can rectify any errors entered in their form.

Examination Schedule and Mode

The CSIR UGC NET December 2025 examination will be conducted on December 18, 2025. The examination will be held in two shifts. The first shift will run from 9 AM to 12 PM, while the second shift will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM.

The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and will cover a total of five subjects — Chemical Sciences, Earth/Atmospheric/Ocean/Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

Application Fee Details

The application fee for the CSIR UGC NET examination has been determined differently according to each category.

  • Fee for General category candidates: ₹1150
  • Fee for EWS and OBC candidates: ₹600
  • Fee for SC, ST, and PwD candidates: ₹325

Candidates should note that the application fee, once submitted, will not be refunded.

Registration Process

  • Now, click on ‘New Registration’ and fill in the required details such as name, email, mobile number, and password.
  • After completing the registration, log in and enter your educational information, subject, examination center, etc.
  • After filling in all the details, upload the documents (photo and signature).
  • Finally, make the online payment for the fee and submit the form.
  • After submitting the form, take a printout and keep it safe.

Admit Card and Exam Pattern

NTA will issue admit cards for candidates a few days before the examination date. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the official website using their registration number and password.

The examination will consist of three sections —

Part A: General Aptitude
Part B: Subject-specific questions
Part C: Advanced research-oriented questions

The total marks for the examination will be 200, and negative marking will be applicable for every incorrect answer.

Who Can Apply

Candidates applying for the CSIR UGC NET examination must hold an MSc, BS-MS, BS-4 Year, BE, BTech, BPharma, or MBBS degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.

The maximum age limit for General category candidates is 28 years. OBC, SC, ST, and female candidates will be granted relaxation in the maximum age limit as per rules.
