Eight Dead in Tragic Road Accidents Across Delhi and Gurugram

On Delhi's Mukundpur flyover, a speeding vehicle collided with a motorcycle, leading to the instantaneous death of three individuals. Police are actively searching for the fleeing vehicle and examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.

New Delhi: Two separate road accidents in Delhi and Gurugram have left families grief-stricken. Late Sunday night on the Mukundpur flyover, a speeding vehicle struck a motorcycle, killing three people instantly. Separately, early Saturday morning on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, a Thar SUV collided with a divider, resulting in the death of five individuals and severe injury to one. In both incidents, the police have initiated investigations and are actively searching for the absconding drivers.

Three Dead in Mukundpur Flyover Accident

Around 12 AM late Sunday night, a speeding vehicle collided with a Splendor motorcycle on Delhi's Mukundpur flyover. The three individuals on the bike were identified as Shahid (60), Faiz (28), and Hamza (12). The impact of the collision was so severe that all three succumbed to their injuries on the spot. The police have registered a case under BNS Section 281/106(1) at Jahangirpuri police station.

There were no eyewitnesses present at the time of the incident, nor were there any CCTV cameras in the immediate vicinity. Police are currently scrutinizing CCTV footage from alternative routes to identify the offending vehicle and its driver. Authorities suspect that the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.

Identification of the Deceased

The police have identified the deceased individuals. Shahid was a 60-year-old senior citizen, Faiz was a 28-year-old young man, and Hamza was a child merely 12 years old. Police have confirmed that the families of the deceased have been notified, and their statements are in the process of being recorded.

Local residents, upon hearing news of the accident, also arrived at the scene and cooperated with the police. Authorities have stated that the investigation will determine whether the accident was solely due to speeding or if any form of negligence also played a role.

Accident on Gurugram Expressway

On September 27, an accident occurred on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway near Exit Number Nine, involving a Thar SUV that collided with a divider. Out of the six occupants in the car, five died at the scene, and one sustained serious injuries. The five deceased have been identified as Pratishtha (25), Lavanya (26), Aditya (30), Gautam (31), and Soni.

According to the police, the vehicle's driver lost control, causing the car to directly crash into the divider. Police immediately arrived at the scene and transported all six individuals to the hospital. Doctors pronounced five of them dead, while one person is currently receiving medical treatment.

Families of the Deceased and Police Action

Gurugram police have informed the families of the deceased. It has been learned that the deceased women were students enrolled in a law program, while the other three individuals were associated with the advertising business. All the occupants had traveled from Uttar Pradesh to Gurugram.

Both tragic incidents have raised significant concerns regarding road safety and the negligence of speeding drivers. Police and administrative authorities have expedited their investigations, and plans are underway to implement enhanced safety measures at both accident sites in the future.
