Golden Temple: Sri Harmandir Sahib, located in Amritsar, has received a bomb threat for the second day in a row. The threat, sent via email, claimed that RDX had been placed within the temple complex. A similar email was received on Monday, and a case had already been registered based on it. Following this repeated threat, the police have intensified vigilance and search operations.

Administrative Alert Raised by Consecutive Threats

On Tuesday, another warning of a bomb blast using RDX was issued regarding Sri Harmandir Sahib. This email was sent to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) email ID. After a similar email was received on Monday, Amritsar Police had registered a case and increased security. The repeated email has now put the administration and security agencies on high alert.

Police and Security Agencies Continue Action

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that an investigation has been initiated, taking the threat seriously. Search operations are being conducted in the area regarding explosive materials like RDX. Currently, no suspicious object has been confirmed, but the security cordon around the temple has been strengthened.

SGPC Demands Strict Action

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Secretary Pratap Singh wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, demanding strict action in this matter. In his letter, he mentioned that a similar threatening email was received on July 14. He urged the Chief Minister to conduct a high-level investigation into the entire matter and identify the culprits for legal action.

Copy of Email Submitted to Administration

The threatening email was also attached with the letter sent by Pratap Singh. A copy of this letter has also been sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, the Police Commissioner, the SHO of Kotwali Police Station, and the in-charge of Galiara Police Station. The SGPC has expressed serious concern, linking the entire incident to the dignity and security of the religious site.

Society Concerned About Potential Attack on Religious Site

Sri Harmandir Sahib is the most sacred place for the Sikh community, and any threat there is a matter of concern not only for the Sikh community but for the entire country. Security agencies adopt a zero-tolerance policy in such cases. The general public is also being appealed to avoid rumors and immediately inform the administration of any suspicious activity.

Cyber Crime Cell Investigating the Email

The Cyber Crime Unit of Punjab Police is investigating the threatening email. The IP address and other technical aspects of the email's origin are being examined. It is important to know if this is the act of a mischievous element intending to disrupt the environment by hurting religious sentiments.

Amritsar on High Alert

Following the threat, a high alert has been declared in Amritsar city. Additional forces have been deployed around the temple complex, and every person entering and exiting is being thoroughly checked. Metal detectors and CCTV surveillance at the main entrances of the temple have been made more stringent.
