Sports News: India's star javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medalist, Neeraj Chopra, married former tennis player Himani Mor earlier this year. Since their marriage, both have consistently been in the news. After retiring from tennis, Himani has focused her attention on sports business and management.

Meanwhile, Himani's father, Chand Mor, has made a significant revelation. He stated that his daughter recently received a job offer worth approximately ₹1.5 crore, but Himani turned down the offer.

Father Chand Mor's Revelation

In a conversation with the media, Himani Mor's father said, "Himani turned down a sports-related job offer of ₹1.5 crore in the USA. Now she will focus on her business." Currently, Himani is in Europe with her husband, Neeraj Chopra, where Neeraj is preparing for upcoming tournaments. India's athletics star Neeraj Chopra married Himani Mor earlier this year.

Neeraj has won two Olympic medals for the country so far —

  • Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2021
  • Silver Medal at the Paris Olympics 2024

Himani Mor's Education and Career

Himani Mor's educational and sports career has been quite impressive. She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Delhi University. Following that, she pursued higher education in Sports and Fitness Management from Franklin Pierce University (USA). She was once an emerging tennis player in India. In 2018, she achieved a ranking of 42 in women's singles, which was the best ranking of her career.

In the same year, she made her international debut. Additionally, her best ranking in doubles was 27. Born in 1999, Himani Mor started playing tennis from the fourth grade. However, her family wanted her to pursue traditional Indian sports like kabaddi, wrestling, or boxing. But Himani, with her interest and hard work, chose tennis and achieved many accomplishments at the national level. She represented Delhi University at the national level and also participated in the World University Games in 2017.

Why Did She Leave Tennis and Choose a New Path?

Despite having a good record in tennis, Himani gradually distanced herself from professional sports. She shifted her focus towards sports business and fitness management. This is why she received an annual job offer of ₹1.5 crore from the United States. But now her plan is to advance her career in the direction of business and entrepreneurship.

After the marriage of Neeraj Chopra and Himani Mor, both are now being called the power couple of the Indian sports world. While Neeraj is focused on furthering his athletics career, Himani is now ready to make her mark in the field of business.
