Vote Adhikar Yatra: The Vote Rights Yatra of the INDIA bloc concluded in Patna with a massive rally. Several senior leaders from Congress, RJD, NCP, CPI, and CPI-ML participated in this padyatra. On this occasion, Rahul Gandhi sharply criticized the BJP, stating that the message given by the people of Bihar during this yatra will reach the entire country.
Rahul Gandhi said that BJP people should be careful. He issued a warning using the term 'hydrogen bomb' and said that the truth about vote theft will now come before the entire country. He thanked the youth and women of Bihar and assured them that after the hydrogen bomb, the Prime Minister will not be able to show his face in the country in the coming times.
Police Barricades at Dak Bungalow Chowk
During the padyatra, Patna Police stopped the procession by placing barricades at Dak Bungalow Chowk. Despite this, opposition leaders began their address from that spot. The yatra concluded from Gandhi Maidan to Ambedkar Park. The police had made heavy security arrangements in the entire area to ensure no disruption occurred during the yatra.
Tejashwi Yadav's Allegation
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that Bihar is the mother of democracy, but the current government is endangering it. He stated that the public has to decide whether they want monarchy or democracy.
Tejashwi targeted Nitish Kumar, saying that his government is a double-engine government. One engine is engaged in crime, and the other is in cutting votes. He claimed that the opposition is continuously moving forward, while the government is trailing behind.
Hemant Soren's Message: Vote is a National Right
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that a vote does not belong to any party, but to the nation. He said that those in power since 2014 have severely impacted the country. Referring to policies like demonetization and the period of Corona, he warned that if the public does not wake up now, they will not get another chance.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge Explains the Yatra's Significance
Congress President Kharge said that this 15-day yatra has generated discussion across the country. He informed that the BJP tried its best to obstruct the yatra, but the public supported the opposition. Kharge stressed the importance of being vigilant against those who steal votes.
He further stated that tribals, Dalits, and backward classes have always faced exploitation. He accused the current NDA government of using agencies like the ED, CBI, and financial power to intimidate public representatives. CPI-ML leader Dipankar Bhattacharya also reiterated the slogan 'Chor, Gaddi Chhod' (Thieves, Leave the Seat) and said that the NDA and Nitish Kumar are afraid of this slogan.
Annie Raja Highlights the Importance of Vote
CPI leader Annie Raja, addressing the workers of the INDIA bloc, said that a vote is our right, and this right has been given to us by the Constitution. She expressed confidence that the public will continue to fight, and ultimately, victory will be theirs.
The 16-day yatra, which began on August 17 from Sasaram, covered a distance of approximately 1300 kilometers. It traversed 25 districts of Bihar, including Sasaram, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Purnea, Madhubani, and Champaran. The primary objective of this yatra was to spread public awareness against alleged manipulation of the voter list.
Welcome for Opposition Leaders in Patna
Senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Hemant Soren, Supriya Sule, D. Raja, and Dipankar Bhattacharya participated in the padyatra. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot arrived at Patna Airport by special flight. Leaders were warmly welcomed by Congress and INDIA alliance workers at the airport. Following this, all leaders departed for Gandhi Maidan, where the concluding ceremony of the yatra was organized.
