Iran Restructures Military Following Israeli Attack

Following an Israeli attack that killed top Iranian military officials, Iran has restructured its military. Amir Hatami has been appointed as the new head of the army, and several other key positions have also seen new appointments.

According to the Iranian state media agency, IRNA, Major General Amir Hatami has been appointed the new chief commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's army. Hatami previously served as the country's defense minister from 2013 to 2021 and possesses extensive experience in military administration and strategic affairs. Khamenei, in his order, praised Hatami's dedication, efficiency, and leadership skills. He expressed hope that Hatami would bring a revolutionary and transformative approach to the army.

Major General Seyyed Abdul Rahim Mousavi Appointed Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces

Following the death of General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the previous Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, in the Israeli attack, Major General Seyyed Abdul Rahim Mousavi has been appointed to the position. Khamenei, in his order, commended Mousavi's dedicated service and extensive experience. This position plays a crucial role in Iran's military strategy and national security policy.

Major General Mohammad Pakpour Takes Command of the IRGC

Following the death of Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, command of Iran's powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been transferred to Major General Mohammad Pakpour. Pakpour previously held high-ranking positions within the IRGC and is known for his strategic thinking.

Khamenei, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stated that Pakpour's service and experience are invaluable, and that under his leadership, the military will move forward bly during this time of crisis.

New Commander for Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters

Additionally, Major General Ali Shadmani has been appointed the new commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, replacing Lieutenant General Gholam Ali Rashid, who was killed in the Israeli attack. This headquarters is a crucial center for Iran's military operations and the command center for the country's defense strategy.
