ISRO to Launch Gaganyaan Test Mission in December; Highlights Recent Successes

ISRO Chief V. Narayanan has announced that the Gaganyaan test mission will be launched in December this year. He shared this information at a recently held press conference.

ISRO: Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman V. Narayanan announced at a recent press conference that India's ambitious Gaganyaan test mission will launch this December. On this occasion, Shubhanshu Shukla, who recently returned from space travel, and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh were also present. The Gaganyaan mission holds significant importance as it is India's first manned space mission.

V. Narayanan stated that the Indian space program has made unprecedented progress in the last ten years. The number of missions completed between 2015 and 2025 has almost doubled compared to those completed between 2005 and 2015.

Success of Three Major Missions in the Last Six Months

Chairman V. Narayanan reported that ISRO has successfully completed three significant missions in the last six months. Among these, the most prestigious mission was AXIOM-4, in which India's first astronaut, Shubhanshu Shukla, was sent to the International Space Station and safely returned. Shukla shared his experiences on this occasion, saying: I thank everyone who supported this mission.

I am also grateful to all the citizens of this country. The experience of real flight is different. No matter how much training you have, the actual flight experience was extremely exciting and a learning experience. Shubhanshu also mentioned that due to the lack of gravity in space, there are many changes in the body, and it takes time to adjust to this process. He gave a message to children and young readers, saying that if I can do it, you can too.

Next Big Mission: Launch of American Communication Satellite

The ISRO Chairman also informed that in July 2025, the GSLV-F16 rocket accurately placed the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR). In the next 2-3 months, ISRO will launch America's 6500 kg communication satellite through its launch vehicle. This success will further strengthen India's position in the space sector.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that India's rapid progress is not just a coincidence. He explained that all these missions are being carried out under a strategic plan. It was decided that an Indian would go into space on the completion of 75 years of independence. This mission is a symbol of India's technical and collective capabilities.

Dr. Singh further said: People are asking why all this has happened in the last few years when it didn't happen before. The answer is that we have worked under a clear strategy and made continuous progress in the same direction.
