A shocking case has come to light in Jhalawar, Rajasthan, where three young men from Madhya Pradesh brutally murdered a taxi driver in their aspiration to live a lavish lifestyle. The accused booked a taxi from Bhopal and strangled the driver to death after bringing him to Jhalawar. Later, the body was thrown near a railway track to make it appear like a train accident. Police have arrested the three main accused in this case, who were planning to rob and murder taxi drivers.
Driver Brought from Bhopal
According to the police, the arrested youth—Rajesh alias Rahul Jatav (21), Anil Kumar (20), and Afzal (21)—are residents of Sirohi district in Madhya Pradesh. The three booked a taxi from Bhopal driven by Pankaj Sahu and brought him to Jhalawar, Rajasthan. Here, with the help of their two local accomplices, they executed their murder plan. First, the driver was strangled with a wire, and then he was stabbed multiple times with a knife.
After the murder, the accused threw Pankaj Sahu's body near the railway track to make it appear as if he had died after being hit by a train. His car, mobile phone, and cash were also looted.
Expose Due to Attempt to Sell the Car
During the investigation, police learned that a taxi driver was missing in Bhopal, and a car was being offered for sale at a cheap price in the Teendhar area of Jhalawar. Police immediately took action, recovered the car, and began questioning a young man named Manish Nayak, who was trying to buy it.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, police arrested the three main accused from the Soyat area while they were planning to target another taxi driver. On Thursday, they were presented in court and sent to police custody.
A Life of Show Made Him a Criminal
According to DSP Harshraj Singh, the accused intended to wear expensive clothes, own branded mobile phones, and drive luxury cars, but due to financial constraints, they conspired to rob and murder taxi drivers, considering them as easy targets.
Two other local accused are still absconding in this case, and police teams are conducting raids to find them. The incident has once again shown how chasing a life of show-off in a young age can push youth into the quagmire of crime.
