CPI(M) Leader John Brittas Hits Back at Rahul Gandhi for Calling CPI(M) and RSS 'Disconnected from the People.' He Alleged that the Congress Unit in Kerala is in Alliance with the BJP.
Kerala: CPI(M) leader John Brittas has reacted sharply to Rahul Gandhi's statement calling the RSS and CPI(M) 'disconnected from the people.' He accused Rahul Gandhi of the Congress' state unit in Kerala being in alliance with the BJP. Brittas said that Rahul Gandhi should focus on uniting secular forces, not creating confusion. This political rhetoric is creating new political tensions both inside and outside Parliament.
Controversy Started with Rahul Gandhi's Statement
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, recently stated that he ideologically fights both the RSS and the CPI(M). He said that neither of these organizations has any empathy for the common people. He added that leaders who do not connect with the people do not have true leadership qualities.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that both the RSS and the CPI(M) maintain a distance from the public in the name of ideology. He said that merely giving speeches is not leadership; unless a leader has empathy for the people, he cannot be a true leader.
CPI(M) Leader's Counterattack – Congress Itself is Compromising
CPI(M) leader and Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas reacted bly to this statement by Rahul Gandhi. He said that the Leader of the Opposition should unite secular forces, not create confusion and discord among them.
John Brittas alleged that the Congress state unit in Kerala is actually in alliance with the BJP. He said that many local Congress leaders and organizational units have direct or indirect political alignment with the BJP. His statement reflects the tension in relations between the Congress and the CPI(M).
'Kerala Congress is Moving in a Different Direction from the National Congress'
Brittas also said that the Kerala Congress unit has now deviated from the ideology of the national Congress. He alleged that the Congress in Kerala is politically aligning with the BJP, which is harming the state's secular politics. He also added that Rahul Gandhi needs to understand which forces the Congress is standing with in his own state.
Protecting Secularism vs. Fighting Ideological Battles
It is being said that opposition parties need to unite against the central government. While Rahul Gandhi describes himself as fighting an ideological battle against both the RSS and the CPI(M), the CPI(M) believes that uniting secular forces is more important in the present time.
