Reason for T20 Retirement

Starc's aim is to perform exceptionally in the upcoming Ashes, Test series in India and Sri Lanka, and the 2027 ODI World Cup. In a conversation with cricket.com.au, Starc said, "I want to play as much Test cricket as I can and utilise my body to its absolute maximum for that. I felt like I had to walk away from one of the formats. I thought ODI cricket still had plenty for me to offer the team."
He further added, "My goal is to stay fit until 2027 and contribute to the team in the World Cup. I have given this decision a lot of thought. I feel now is the right time. I'm 35 years old. Test cricket has always been and will continue to be my first priority."
Mitchell Starc's Role in T20 World Cup
