Meanwhile, the London Spirit franchise has made a major and strategic decision by appointing Mo Bobat as their new Director of Cricket. Interestingly, Mo Bobat is also working in the same role with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), making this decision even more of a talking point in the cricket world.
Mo Bobat's Cricket Journey
Mo Bobat has served as Performance Director at the England Cricket Board (ECB) for a long time. He has played a key role in many major campaigns and title victories for the England team. Recently, an international technology group 'Tech Titans' has purchased a 49% stake in this franchise. Although the team name will remain London Spirit, the arrival of new investors will bring about a major change in the team's operations and resources. It is expected that Bobat's appointment and the new investment will boost the team towards long-term success.
London Spirit's performance in the current season of The Hundred 2025 has been average. The team has played three matches so far, out of which it has lost two and won one. In the first match, the team suffered a heavy defeat against Oval Invincibles, where the entire team was reduced to just 80 runs. In the second match, they made a brilliant comeback by defeating Welsh Fire by 8 runs.
They faced defeat once again in the third match. Currently, London Spirit is in fifth place in the points table and needs to make a b comeback in the upcoming matches.
