Mumbai Indians, the most successful franchise in the Women's Premier League (WPL), has made a significant announcement by appointing former Australian cricket legend and two-time World Cup winner Lisa Keightley as the new head coach of its women's team. 

Sports News: The Mumbai Indians franchise in the Women's Premier League (WPL) has announced its new coach, making a significant change. The team has entrusted this responsibility to Australia's legendary player and experienced coach Lisa Keightley. She will now replace Charlotte Edwards. Lisa Keightley is a well-known name in the world of women's cricket, who, as a player, played a crucial role in Australia winning the ODI World Cup title twice (in 1997 and 2005). 

Her cricket career has been truly exceptional, and she has also carved out a distinct identity in the field of coaching. With Lisa's experience, having coached in several leagues, Mumbai Indians, as well as Indian women's cricket, are expected to benefit greatly.

Who is Lisa Keightley?

Lisa Keightley has played for the Australian women's cricket team and has achieved several historic accomplishments in her career. She was part of Australia's ODI World Cup-winning team in 1997 and 2005. Her international career includes 9 Tests, 82 ODIs, and 1 T20 International match.

After her playing career, she made coaching her profession and contributed significantly to women's cricket in various important roles. She was the first woman to become the head coach of the England senior women's team. Additionally, she has coached in the WBBL (Women's Big Bash League), The Hundred, and the WPL. Most recently, she led Northern Superchargers to the women's title in The Hundred.
