Nuh, Haryana: Internet Shutdown and Heightened Security for Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra

Internet services have been suspended in Nuh, Haryana, to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. 2500 police personnel have been deployed, schools are closed, and strict monitoring of rumors is underway.

Nuh: The government and administration have implemented stringent security measures in Haryana's Nuh district concerning the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. To ensure the peaceful conclusion of the yatra, internet and bulk SMS services have been temporarily suspended. Previously, in 2023, communal violence during the same yatra resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to several police officers. In light of this, the administration has taken special precautions this time.

Temporary Suspension of Internet and Social Media

The Haryana Home Department ordered the temporary suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS, and social media services in Nuh district from 9 PM on Sunday to 9 PM on Monday. During this period, activities on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter will also be restricted. However, essential services such as banking and mobile recharge will remain available. The government states that this step has been taken to prevent the spread of rumors and misleading information.

Deployment of 2,500 Police Personnel for Security

To address any potential disturbances during the yatra in Nuh district, over 2,500 police personnel have been deployed. Surveillance has been increased in sensitive areas of the district. Special teams have also been formed to monitor social media. The police have clarified that strict action will be taken against those attempting to spread any kind of rumors.

Restrictions on Schools and Shops

Orders have been issued to close all government and private schools in the district on Monday. Additionally, meat shops along the yatra route have been instructed to remain closed until July 24. The administration has directed petrol pumps not to sell petrol and diesel in open containers from 6 AM to 12 PM. This decision has been made to manage any emergency situation and maintain law and order.

Monitoring Social Media and Preparation for Action

The police have initiated strict monitoring on social media to prevent the spread of any misleading or inflammatory information. A special team will work on this around the clock. Police officials have appealed to the public not to pay attention to any rumors and to cooperate in maintaining a peaceful environment.

Bittoo Bajrangi, a controversial cow vigilante associated with violence in previous years, has not been allowed to participate in the yatra this time. Furthermore, his social media accounts have been temporarily suspended.
