Omar Abdullah Accuses Administration of Obstruction at Naqshband Sahib Dargah

Omar Abdullah offers prayers at Naqshband Sahib Dargah. Accuses administration of obstruction and manhandling. Shares video on social media. Questions government policies.

Jammu-Kashmir: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah offered prayers at the Naqshband Sahib Dargah on the occasion of Martyrs' Day. During this, he entered the dargah by scaling the door after being stopped by the administration. Omar Abdullah himself shared a video of the entire incident on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and leveled serious allegations against the administration.

Omar Abdullah's Allegations

In his video post, Omar Abdullah wrote that he offered prayers at the graves of the martyrs of July 13, 1931, and paid his respects. He alleged that the government tried to block his path and forced him to walk from Nowhatta Chowk to the dargah. The door was closed, forcing him to scale the wall. He said that the police also tried to catch him, but he did not stop.

Questions Raised on the Administration's Intentions

Omar Abdullah alleged that the administration, which is only responsible for maintaining law and order, is now stopping people from visiting religious places. He said that when he informed the control room about his arrival, a bunker was set up outside his house within minutes. The bunker was not removed until late at night.

"Arrived Without Notice, Still Stopped"

The former Chief Minister said that he did not inform the administration and went directly to the Naqshband Sahib Dargah. He parked his car at Nowhatta Chowk, and when he proceeded towards the dargah, a CRPF bunker and police were already deployed there. He alleged that the police tried to manhandle him.

"We Are Not Slaves of Anyone"

In his statement, Omar Abdullah said that some people think that we are their slaves, but we are only servants of the people. He said that some officers wearing uniforms forget the law and implement it according to their own whims. He also alleged that the administration tried to tear his flag and tried to stop him at all costs.

Sharp Attack in Response

The former Chief Minister said that the administration has forgotten that these graves are there not just on July 13, but every day of the year. He said that no matter how many attempts are made to stop us, we will not stop remembering the martyrs. He clarified that he can visit the dargah and offer prayers at any time of his choosing, and does not need anyone's permission for it.
