Lieutenant General Rahul Singh revealed that China and Turkey were also involved with Pakistan in Operation Sindoor. China supplied and tested weapons for Pakistan. India destroyed terrorist hideouts in retaliation.
Operation Sindoor: Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh, the Deputy Chief of Army Staff, while elaborating on Operation Sindoor, revealed several important facts. He stated that it was not just a war against Pakistan, but two other major adversaries – China and Turkey – were also active behind it. The war was being fought on one front, but its impact extended to three countries.
Major Disclosure at FICCI Event
At a special event of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), General Singh stated that India learned several important lessons from Operation Sindoor. He mentioned the military assistance that Pakistan was receiving from China and Turkey, and said that China not only provided weapons to Pakistan but also used it as a 'live testing lab'.
Pakistan Possesses 81% Chinese Weapons
Lieutenant General Singh revealed that 81 percent of the weapons used by the Pakistan army in the last five years were made in China. During this time, China supplied modern weapons to Pakistan and tested these weapons in real war situations.
Live Testing of Weapons and Turkey's Role
He said that during the war, China was providing live inputs to Pakistan. China was testing not only its own weapons but also other weapon systems in real-world conditions. Simultaneously, Turkey openly supported Pakistan.
Updates from China Received During DGMO Talks
General Singh also stated that during the DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) level talks between India and Pakistan, Pakistan was receiving live updates from China on Indian military movements. This is a serious indication that Pakistan is no longer a lone enemy, but has become part of an international coalition.
Need for Air Defense System
He emphasized the need for India to strengthen its air defense system. India does not have an Iron Dome system like Israel, and due to the large size of our country, deploying such technology in every area is extremely expensive. Therefore, India will have to further upgrade its existing capabilities.
Mixed Performance of Indigenous Weapons
During Operation Sindoor, India used several indigenous weapon systems. General Singh said that some of these weapons performed very well, but the functionality of some was less than expected. This experience will prove important for future planning and improvements.
India's Retaliatory Action
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, India launched Operation Sindoor on the night of May 7, targeting terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan and PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir).
