NIA Reveals PFI Created Hit List of 950 Individuals in Kerala

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed a significant development in its investigation against the Popular Front of India (PFI), a banned organization. The agency informed the court that PFI had compiled a list of 950 individuals for potential harm within Kerala. Notably, a retired district judge’s name also appeared on this list. This information surfaced during the presentation of documents in court regarding an application to reject bail for four accused in the case involving the assassination of RSS leader Srinivasan.

Case Linked to Srinivasan’s Assassination

This case stems from the assassination of RSS leader Srinivasan in Pallakkad district, Kerala, in 2022. During the investigation into this case, the NIA uncovered PFI’s dangerous plan. The investigation agency has obtained several documents and evidence confirming the existence of the hit list.

Hit List Includes Individuals from Diverse Communities

The NIA informed the court that eight documents seized from the possession of the 51st accused, Shirazuddin, contained the names of approximately 240 individuals from various communities. Furthermore, a list of five individuals for potential harm was discovered in a wallet belonging to Abdul Wahad, a fugitive suspect located at Periyar Valley Campus in Aluva. This list also included the name of a former district judge.

Over 500 Names Recovered from One Individual’s Residence

Additionally, a separate hit list containing the names of approximately 500 individuals was recovered during a search of the residence of the 69th accused, Ayub. A document found during the same search contained a list of 232 names. When these lists are combined, a total of 950 names have been confirmed as part of the hit list.

PFI’s Conspiracy Involved Training and Violence Planning

The NIA stated that PFI’s activities extended beyond simply compiling the list; the organization was also providing physical training to its cadres and training in the use of weapons. The investigation revealed that the organization was plotting to incite communal tensions across the country to create unrest. According to the NIA, PFI had a long-term plan, referred to as the ‘India 2047 Plan,’ aimed at establishing an Islamic government in India.

Revelation Through Witnesses and Voice Clips

To support its claims, the NIA presented witness testimonies and voice clips in court. These pieces of evidence demonstrate that PFI’s strategy wasn’t solely focused on spreading violence but also on challenging the country’s established order.

Bail Petitions Rejected

The NIA opposed the bail petitions filed by the four arrested accused – Muhammad Bilal, Riyasuddin, Ansar K.P., and Sahir K.V. After considering the arguments of all parties and reviewing the documents, the special court rejected the bail petitions for all four accused. The court stated that there was sufficient prima facie evidence against the accused.
