In anticipation of the large influx of devotees expected for the Shravani Mela starting on July 11th, the Railways has decided to operate two additional special trains. These include the Katihar-Deoghar weekly train via Ajgaibinath Dham-Bhagalpur and the Dibrugarh-Deoghar Shravani Special train.
Bhagalpur: During the massive religious event of the Shravani Mela, lakhs of devotees visit Baba Baidyanathdham (Deoghar) and Ajgaibinath Dham. This time, keeping in mind the crowd and convenience of the devotees, the Railways has geared up. Two more special trains have been announced for Katihar-Deoghar and Dibrugarh-Deoghar. With this, the total number of Shravani Mela special trains will now be seven. This step by the Railways will provide great relief to the lakhs of Kanwariyas who come to offer water at the Deoghar Baba Dham during the month of Sawan.
Katihar-Deoghar Special: Serving Devotees Every Sunday
According to the Railways, train number 05716 Katihar-Deoghar Shravani Mela Special will run every Sunday from July 6th to August 17th. This train will make a total of 7 trips. This train will have a total of 16 coaches, including 6 sleeper, 8 general, and 2 guard brake vans. It will depart from Katihar at 11:45 AM, stop at Naugachia at 12:53 PM, and then reach Bhagalpur at 1:52 PM. From Bhagalpur, it will depart at 1:57 PM and reach Ajgaibinath Dham at 2:45 PM.
It will reach Mandarhill at 3:25 AM, Hansdiha at 4:10 AM, and Deoghar at 5:45 AM. In the return journey, train number 05715 Deoghar-Katihar Special will run every Monday from July 7th to August 18th, making it easier for devotees to return.
Dibrugarh-Deoghar Special: A Journey of Faith in a Single Trip
Train number 05926 Dibrugarh-Deoghar Special will run for a single trip on July 11th. This train will have 20 coaches, including 10 sleeper, 8 general, and 2 guard brake vans. The train will depart from Tinsukia at 8 AM, Digboi at 8:32 AM, Makum at 8:50 AM, Tingrai at 9:00 AM, New Tinsukia at 9:20 AM and will reach Deoghar at 11 AM.
On the return journey, train number 05925 will depart from Deoghar on August 15th and complete its journey by reaching Ajgaibinath Dham at 12:40 PM and Bhagalpur at 1:30 PM.
Jamalpur-Ajgaibinath Dham Special will also run
To facilitate the devotees, the Jamalpur-Ajgaibinath Dham Shravani Mela Passenger Special will make 30 trips from July 11th to August 9th. In addition, the Jamalpur-Deoghar Passenger Special will also run every Sunday (total 5 trips) from July 13th to August 10th. This train will depart from Jamalpur at 5:10 AM and reach Deoghar at 10:10 AM, while on the return journey, it will depart from Deoghar at 3:45 PM and return to Jamalpur at 10:05 PM.
The Deoghar-Godda Shravani Mela Passenger Special will also make five trips every Sunday from July 13th to August 10th. This train will depart from Deoghar at 10:45 AM and reach Godda at 12:40 PM.

- 12254 Bhagalpur-Yeshvantpur Weekly Ang Express will reach Ajgaibinath Dham at 2:08 PM.
- 13423 Bhagalpur-Ajmer Weekly Express will reach Ajgaibinath Dham at 1:38 PM.
- 13424 Ajmer-Bhagalpur Weekly Express will reach Ajgaibinath Dham at 1:50 PM.
- 13429 Malda Town-Anand Vihar Weekly Express will reach Ajgaibinath Dham at 1:02 PM.
- 13430 Anand Vihar-Malda Town Weekly Express will depart from Badhni at 5:55 PM.
Devotees will get relief, there will be no problem of crowd
This decision of the Railways will certainly prove to be a great relief for Kanwariyas and devotees. Every year, lakhs of people come to participate in the Shravani Mela, for whom traveling becomes challenging. Now, these special trains will reduce the pressure of the crowd and devotees will find it easier to reach their destination. The Railways has said that detailed information about the schedule and stoppages will be made available at all stations so that no one faces any inconvenience. This major step by the Railways will be commendable in providing a safe, smooth, and accessible journey for the crowd of faith that gathers during the Shravani Mela.
