Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh on August 1 to inspect the construction of the international airport, lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects, and address a public meeting. The visit is scheduled to last approximately two hours and 25 minutes, during which he will also review the progress of several development schemes of the Central and State governments.
According to the official programme, the Prime Minister will arrive at Bhogapuram Airport at 10:45 a.m. by special aircraft from New Delhi. He will be received by Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union ministers and senior ministers of the state government. Following the reception, he will proceed directly to the passenger terminal building.
At the terminal building, around 200 students will present a Kuchipudi cultural performance to welcome the Prime Minister. The programme is intended to showcase Andhra Pradesh's cultural heritage at the national level.
From 11:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., the Prime Minister will inspect the progress of the Bhogapuram International Airport construction project. He will review the current status of the project, the pace of construction and future plans.
After the inspection, the Prime Minister will travel from the terminal building to the public meeting venue in an open jeep. The journey is expected to take approximately eight to ten minutes. Local residents and Bharatiya Janata Party workers are scheduled to welcome him along the route. Security agencies have made special security arrangements for the programme.
The main programme will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:55 p.m. During this period, the Prime Minister will formally inaugurate works related to the Bhogapuram International Airport and lay the foundation stones for various development projects in the region.
The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting during the visit. His speech is expected to cover the Central government's development schemes, infrastructure projects and the roadmap for regional development. Employment, investment, transport, tourism and industrial development are also likely to be among the subjects addressed.
After the programme, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to depart for New Delhi by special aircraft between approximately 1:05 p.m. and 1:10 p.m.
The Bhogapuram International Airport is regarded as one of Andhra Pradesh's key infrastructure projects. It is expected to provide international air connectivity to North Andhra Pradesh. According to experts, the project is expected to reduce traffic pressure on Visakhapatnam and surrounding areas after completion while improving international flight connectivity. Experts also state that the airport is expected to support tourism, trade, investment and the economic development of the Visakhapatnam region.
The government aims to develop Bhogapuram as a future economic and transport hub. Improved road, rail and air connectivity is expected to support industry, tourism and trade.
