Pistol Recovered in Raja Raghuwanshi Murder Case from Indore

A significant development has emerged in the Raja Raghuwanshi murder case. Meghalaya police have recovered a locally made pistol from a drain in Indore’s Old Palasia area. This recovery followed questioning of property broker Shilom and flat owner Lokesh Singh Tomar, who are implicated in the conspiracy to commit the murder.

Pistol Prepared as an Alternative Plan

According to police sources, the accused, Sonam Raghuwanshi and his accomplices, confessed during their police remand that they had arranged for a locally made pistol as an alternative plan for the murder of Raja. Their intention was to utilize the weapon if other methods failed. Based on this information, Meghalaya police launched a search operation in Indore, resulting in the recovery of the pistol.

Attempts to Destroy Evidence

Previously, a property broker, a security guard, and the flat owner were arrested on charges of attempting to destroy evidence. They are accused of assisting Sonam in erasing evidence from around the crime scene after the murder. With the recovery of the pistol from the drain, it’s now clear that the entire murder plot was meticulously planned, with multiple options considered.

Arrest of Flat Owner Lokesh Singh Tomar

Lokesh Singh Tomar, the owner of the flat where Sonam Raghuwanshi took refuge after the murder, has been handed over to Meghalaya police on a three-day transit remand. Tomar was arrested in Gandhi Nagar area of ग्वालियर on Monday and subsequently detained by the Mohana police station in the Gohad region of ग्वालियर on information from the Indore DCP (Crime).

Transit Remand Granted by Court

On Tuesday, Tomar was presented before the court, where he was remanded in the custody of Meghalaya police for 72 hours. Subsequently, he was brought to Indore for questioning and will be taken to Shillong, where the investigation into the case is ongoing, via Delhi and Guwahati.

Tomar Allegedly Assisted Sonam After the Murder

Police believe that Lokesh Singh Tomar played a crucial role in helping Sonam Raghuwanshi evade capture after the murder of Raja Raghuwanshi. He provided her shelter in his flat and made every effort to shield her from the police. Investigators are currently trying to determine if Tomar was aware of the murder plot beforehand and intentionally provided assistance to Sonam.
